Default 4 man FoW - fast, efficient (w' 3, 5 & 6 man versions)

I thought I'd share this with everyone. I hope you find the speed at which you can move through FoW using this build refreshing. I'm not going to provide you with a step by step, area by area blueprint, as I believe that you should be able to figure that out on your own. This build is extremely quick once mastered and I find that the inclusion of a 4th member is well worth the trade off in drops versus a 3 man team in terms of efficieny and speed. Yes it can be done as a 3 man I know, but I'm of the opinion that the killing more and killing faster best optimizes a trip. Also, none of this is particularly new and credit goes to those before me. I have simply combined elements from various builds, refined and supplemented them, and put this one together.

Tank Monk (Mo/Me)
Standard 605 set up for the most part
- should have swappable armor to elevate Vital Blessing and Blessed Aura bonds at cast
- icy flamespitter of enchanting, suggest having multiple offhands - +27 -1, 20/20 prot, byzzrs benediction, wroths icon etc

Essence Bond
Blessed Aura
Vital Blessing
Blessed Signet
Spell Breaker
Spirit Bond
Protective Spirit
Sympathetic Visage

Prot -14
Divine – 9
Illusion – 10

Smite Bonder Monk (Mo/any)
- Smite head piece w sup smite rune, swappable armor piece w sup prot to elevate Life Attunement bond
- 1 cold damage weapon

Balts Spirit
Life Attunement
Retribution
Holy Wrath
Signet of Judgement
Purge Signet
Signet of Devotion
Rebirth

Smiting – 16
Prot – 12
Divine - 7

SS Necro (N/Me)
- Standard set up
- 1 cold damage weapon

Arcane Echo
Spiteful Spirit
Desecrate Enchantments
Defile Enchantments
Soul Barbs
Spinal Shivers
Blood Ritual
Rez Signet

Shatter Interrupt Mesmer (Me/Mo)
- Domination head piece w sup or maj domination rune, maj or min inspiration, minor fast cast
- 1 cold damage weapon

Shatter Hex
Echo
Cry of Frustration
Wastrels Worry
Power Drain
Drain Enchantment
Dwaynas Kiss
Rebirth

Domination – 15
Inspiration – 12
Fast Cast - 7
Healing - 6

The SB duo are your core. There is really very little that should be changed or altered. This pair can be used universally in combination with several optional builds. (I'll post one below). The reduced recharge for Sig of J is welcomed !

The necro added gives you the basis for a 3 man and there is little you would want to change there.

The mesmer puts the speed into the build. The current skill bar can be changed and modified. I am generally trying different versions of it every time I go in if I am playing the mesmer. Shatter and CoF as well as one of the echos are mandatories. Wastrels and soul barbs drop single targets disturbingly fast. Options include using arcane echo and energy surge. Inspired hex can be used. A Me/N with pts in blood can put the Spitefuls to use. You should be able to drop kiss once you have it down but it does mad healing on your monks.

Enjoy and have fun with this. If you have any questions my name is listed. Happy hunting and happy crafting.

listed below is a Rgr duo that can be added for a blistering fast 6 or 5 and can be used in a 4 as well.

Duo Rangers (R/Mo)
- Marksmanship mask w sup marks rune, maj expertise rune

Read the Wind
Savage Shot
Distracting Shot
Barrage
Judges Insight
Smite Hex
Dwaynas Kiss
Rebirth

Marksmanship – 15
Expertise – 11
Smiting – 10
Healing – 4

- Wilderness mask w maj wilderness, maj marksmanship, maj expertise

Melandrus Arrows
Choking Gas
Apply Poison
Ignite Arrows
Healing Spring
Judges Insight
Smite Hex
Rebirth

Wilderness Survival - 14
Marksmanship – 11
Expertise – 10
Smiting – 8

Nice Build for Farming in the FoW but the number of peope is little to much like have 8 man farmng grp. A FoW can be done with SS and 600hp Monk and Bonder/Smiter Monk. All in all it a pretty good build

Thanks, this is the first farming build I have posted. Yeah I openly state that the basis of the three man is there. My intention was to communicate a 4 man build that is much faster than the three man. I added the Ranger duo for options as well. Running with two SS Necs and the smite duo is an additional method too. The 3 man was a little slow for my tastes, hence my post.

I have done 3 man many times and think that it goes fast enough indeed if you have good players.
You need a good balance between Speed and drop ratio.
When ever I do 3 man with my usual friends we split shards between us, so last time just after finishing the forgemaster quest we had 15 shards between the 3 of us, meaning 5 shards each... a 4 man group with 15 shards would be <4 shards each. 3 man is faster than an 8 man group, especially in the desert area.
3 man FTW

While all thats true, small groups can be efficient with competent players, I still think that 1 Warrior, 1 Monk, and as many Eles as you can find is the best 'balanced' group for FOW. Nothing is more hillarious then seeing 4x ele's cast Glyph of Sacrifice, Meteor Shower, Assassins Promise, Incendiary Bonds, Fireball... especially at places like the Tower of Strength, where everything is balled up so nicely.

if you want fast 3 man then use the 2 monks and a famine ranger

and whats with all these smite builds useing signet of judment

shields is much better and dont say its cause you cant cast it cause you ahve no energy. Its called switching weapons to hide 15energy

im not gonna give every detail but the ranger brings brambles and apply poison along with the other standard famine skills needed

so smiter hits 605 with shields of judment before he goes into agroo so with brambles down thats bleeding on all then spread poison for extra degen and ofcourse with famine and visages the monks will go down fast like in 30seconds.

we have effectivly taken down the 4monks with our 3man but you gotta take the time to circle them up close to another

I never said this was anything more than what I have found to be an extremely quick and efficient build for blasting through FoW. It's fast. With an experienced competent group you simply move from group to group with out ever really having to slow down for the types of things that might normally slow a group down.

I agree that the 3 man works well as well and who can fault ubermancers galactic destruction ele group.

Yeah I get the idea of shield and visage being used with famine and brambles. Not like you have some big secret there, you can let that cat out of the bag. It's simply inefficient.... there's that whole issue of finding a way to make undead and shadows bleed and of course your tank gets healed like mad while he has Shield on him and Visage works like a dream with Shiled too......It's great that you can kill 4 monks though.

As far as the choice of Signet of Judgement over Shield goes, I don't think you really get the build. It has nothing to do with EM for the smite bonder. In truth, the build would work with out either one anyway. Sig of Judgement just works best in that slot.
